Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.

Stateside actor Finn, who was seen in iconic programs such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, according to news outlets.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his family said in a message.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

A Prolific Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several hit series, such as:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, peer Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
