It was a performance that firmly established their leadership claims as they consolidated their standing at the top of the table.

Successive Defeats for Manchester United

This outcome signalled back-to-back league losses for Marc Skinner’s side for the maiden instance since last May, placing them a sizable gap off the top team with their title hopes severely dented.

Manchester United's ability to balance domestic and continental soccer with a thin squad has been a widely debated issue since they qualified for the UCL.
