Trent Alexander-Arnold's recovery is progressing well, raising a chance that the Real Madrid defender might recover soon enough to confront his old club Liverpool in November's Champions League tie.

The 27-year-old international experienced a hamstring problem while playing against Ligue 1 side Marseille in the group stage of the tournament on September 16.

Alexander-Arnold had to leave the field in the fifth minute, with initial estimates indicating a potential absence of around a month and a half.

Real Madrid are set to play at Liverpool on November 4 for the European fixture—exactly over a month after the injury took place.

Sources close to the situation indicate that the player's recovery is progressing positively, and there is expectation that Alexander-Arnold might achieve his initial return to Liverpool's stadium after signing for Real Madrid in June.

A longtime Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold earlier said that departing from the club he joined as a young youth player was the "hardest choice he has ever made."

During his spell with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold accumulated 354 games, helping secure multiple Premier League titles, a European Cup, and the FA Cup.

After joining to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has appeared five times in all competitions, accumulating 156 minutes of game time.
