New information has come to light concerning the shocking deaths of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles property on Sunday.

The Alarm

As detailed in an account quoting a family associate, a massage therapist scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the home. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

When she went into the house, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Afterward, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now being held and denied bail.

Correcting the Record

The anonymous source also disputed several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that moment.

Furthermore disputed circulated claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Instead the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement includes descriptions of alleged "unstable" conduct by Nick at a event held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. Although the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "blow-up" between the two were inaccurate.

Investigation Timeline

As stated by law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts indicated the state of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the family home. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until no sooner than Wednesday.
