Soccer Analyst Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland prior to the international break, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.
In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
Murs' new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Parenting Life
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.
West Ham's sole on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.
So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.
My son told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.
The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
They have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have got lots of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.
However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
